Last Monday I was invited to co-host the bimonthly evening on photography De Donkere Kamer in Amsterdam. I interviewed journalist and author Merel Bem about her new book ‘Doorkijken’, and Annemarie Zethof of the IBASHO gallery in Antwerpen on Japanese photography.
I’ll be co-hosting the next episode in February 2017. Stay tuned…
After being an image editor for over eight years now I know that image makers often have really good ideas for interesting journalistic stories. And after almost two years De Correspondent has grown as an suitable platform to present these projects.
So what I want to do from now on is to organise a portfolio day every couple of weeks to invite image makers from all sorts and backgrounds to share their ideas in the hope it can be the start of new collaborations.
Deadline for applying for this first Portfolio Day is August 5, 2015. Stay tuned here for the upcoming days.
On the wall it says Rob Wetzer only, but these images are also mine.

Good news! Our book ED IT – the substantial system for photographic archive maintenance (including the Appendix to ED IT – Discoveries) is nominated for The Paris Photo-Aperture Foundation First Photobook Award 2014.
Check this out for more information about the book and the price.
